National Day (國慶節 or 国庆节) is celebrated throughout mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau with a range of festivities such as concerts, food stalls, fireworks as well as sporting & cultural events.
It is a celebration of the forming of the Central’s People’s Government taking place in Tiananmen Square on this day in 1949.
The Double Ninth or Chung Yeung Festival (重陽節 or 重阳节) in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan is observed on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese calendar and is a traditional Chinese holiday, mentioned in writing since before the Eastern Han period (before AD 25).
