US–China Tariffs Paused for 90 Days Amid Trade Talks

A temporary pause on US–China tariffs marks a significant development in ongoing trade talks, easing tensions for the next 90 days.

In a major development for global trade, the US and China have agreed to pause the escalating tariff dispute for 90 days. Tariffs on Chinese goods entering the US will drop from 145% to 30%, while tariffs on US goods heading into China will fall from 125% to 10%.

This temporary reduction comes as part of renewed diplomatic talks between both nations, aimed at finding a longer-term resolution to the ongoing trade conflict. While welcomed by many in the supply chain and logistics industry, further clarification is expected from the White House regarding how these changes will impact goods currently in transit and whether there will be any exclusions.

Our teams across China and the US are in close contact with local customs authorities to determine how and when the updated tariff rates will apply to in-transit shipments. We will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.

This pause offers short-term relief for importers and exporters on both sides and is expected to influence pricing and demand patterns in the weeks ahead.
