US Government Avoids Shutdown

US Government shutdown avoided as last minute bill is signed by President Biden

On Saturday night, the US Government reached a short term agreement over budget negotiations of recent weeks. A last minute bill was approved by the House and Senate and signed into law by President Biden on the same night, just 3 hours ahead of the deadline.

The bill provides funds until 17 November 2023, which represents the new deadline for the US Government to reach a long term agreement. Should an agreement not be reached by that time, a federal shutdown will begin.

The short term agreement avoids any immediate disruptions to US supply chains and public services.

We will continue to monitor the situation. Should you have any questions regarding your global supply chain management, please reach out to your Woodland representative or our dedicated team here.
