UK Home Office and Border Force staff to strike this week

Members of the PCS will be taking part in strike action on 28th April, impacting Home Office and Border Force services

Following our most recent update on UK border strikes, industrial action planned for Friday, 28th April by the Public and Commercial Service (PCS) union is set to impact the movement of goods crossing UK borders.

The aim of the walkout, which will see staff from both HMRC and the UK Border Force take part, is to trigger further reviews of their pay, pensions, job security, and redundancy terms.

Supply chains will be impacted on Friday, 28th April, as UK ports, airports, and border facilities see disruption as well as longer queues and wait times at border facilities. Furthermore, customers could see delays if contacting the National Clearance Hub (NCH) and Customs & International Trade (CIT) Helpline.

It is advised to move goods outside of this period, however, for goods moved on Friday, 28th April or the morning of Saturday, 29th April delays are to be expected.

We are in contact with the relevant operators and are looking into possible alternative options to avoid any potential disruption to your upcoming bookings.
