Expected Strike at JNP, India's largest container port

Following alerts of previously proposed strike action in May this year, India’s largest container port, Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP) in Mumbai, is faced with notice of all its employees proposing to strike on 05th August 2019.

Employees are pressing for immediate settlement of their demands in regards to the cancellation of a circular on the “Exclusion of house rent allowance for calculation of overtime allowance” and for continuation of existing employee service conditions.

Services to/from JNPT will likely be impacted.

We will be keeping customers updated on their individual shipments and will be posting regular updates of any further developments.

If you have any concerns on specific shipments, please speak to your Woodland point of contact or get in touch with one of our teams here.
