Customer Advisory - ASIA CAPACITY - Q3

The carriers' blank sailing programmes across Asia routes are having a significant impact on capacity and we would like to reiterate the importance of instructing your suppliers to make bookings well in advance of sailings.

Please be encouraged to consider a three week lead time to enable us to secure space. Where possible, if you could also share with us your shipping forecasts for Q3, it will help us gain better protection across all our contracts with carriers and allow us to minimise any potential disruption to your Asia ocean shipments.

This week in particular, we have seen attempted bookings made for vessel sailings next week when these vessels are already heavily overbooked. In some instances, we have managed to accommodate bookings but most shipments cannot be added to considerably overbooked routings within a one-week turnaround, so please do bear this in mind when mapping out your Q3 supply chain plans.

The current carrier capacity will see no further change over the coming weeks, so continuing to book well in advance of sailings and sharing your container forecasts where possible will help minimise delays and disruption.

We thank you for your continued support during quickly changing, challenging times.

Please contact your local Woodland representative with any questions or concerns or reach out to one of our teams here.
