HMRC to automatically issue EORI numbers

HMRC announced today that EORI numbers will now be automatically issued to traders that import/export from/to the EU and have not yet applied for their own EORI number.
As part of our involvement in the BIFA Customs Policy group which has held many meetings with HMRC regarding their Brexit plans, this is something we're happy to see having been taken onboard in better preparation for a potential 'No Deal'.
Please note, you will still need to manually register for TSP if you import from the EU into the UK. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/register-for-simplified-import-procedures-if-the-uk-leaves-the-eu-without-a-deal
