Typhoon Nangka Hits Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Observatory issued a No 8 typhoon warning this morning, as Tropical Storm Nangka nears the city indicating wind speeds  between 63km/h to 117km/h.

The signal, which is the warning system’s third highest, is expected to remain in place for most of today.

Schools, trading, public services and temporary COVID-19 testing centres have been closed and some transport services will likely be affected. 

The storm may also impact operations in Shenzhen terminals, resulting in delays to schedules.
