Belgium to face national strike
Belgium may be faced with 24hour strike affecting all transport.
On Wednesday, 13th February, Belgium may be faced with a national 24 hour strike.
The majority of the terminals through the Belgian ports are likely to be closed for security reasons, and access will be denied by strike barricades blocking entrances.
If the strike cannot be avoided, vessels will run into a delay of +/- 24 hours.
Road haulage may experience major issues and customs formalities could be completely impossible.
Meanwhile, unions have called on their members in the air traffic control and ground crew at airports to join in the action on 13 February, affecting all manners of air cargo transport too.
We will closely monitor the situation and will keep you informed. Should you have any questions, please contact your Woodland representative or email us here.
