LCL is a part container load ('Less than Container Load) and is used by customers who want to ship little and often. Additionally, customers that buy regular FCL (Full Container Load) business also use LCL if they have smaller commodities/volumes that do not fill an FCL on its own.

Our LCL service from Asia covers all CMP and is a regular scheduled weekly service from Shanghai / Ningbo / Xiamen / Hong Kong / Yantian and Taiwan. A complete "door to door" service controlled by our Woodland teams from end to end, it offers up a unique pricing structure which enables our clients to have sight of all costs before a single carton is packed.

Furthermore, our LCL turnaround is successfully set at 5 working days of arrival at the delivery port, including delivery to our warehouse, unpacking of the container and final delivery to the customer.

How can LCL help in current market conditions.

Thanks to our weekly service schedules over more than 30 years, we have built up relationships with our core carriers that ensures LCL equipment is released on a weekly basis still despite current capacity shortages on the Asia tradelane. This provides a good alternative to FCL business which needs to be booked at least 3/4 weeks in advance of sailing to obtain equipment and ship, an issue faced by the entire industry.

While our weekly LCL service is protected from rollovers, it also provides a decent solution in times of uncertainty as part of alternative supply chain structuring to reduce financial impact on your business.

FCL (Full Container Load) - Asia Westbound

The movement of FCL containers from Asia and Indian Subcontinent has become increasingly difficult, with the impact of COVID-19, further exacerbated by the Suez Canal blockage, resulting in a lack of space and equipment and ever increasing costs versus a deteriorating service.

While this has impacted the industry globally, thanks to our strong relationships with carriers, our feet on the ground and close network both in Asia and Europe, coupled with our ocean experts' dedication to making our clients supply chains simple, Woodland Group have been able to deliver a 85% success rate in FCL liftings compared to the average market rate of 50%-60%.
