11 August 2026 - Shanghai Port Operations Resume

Port operations across Shanghai are resuming following the temporary restrictions introduced in response to Typhoon Dolphin, with Waigaoqiao and Yangshan terminals announcing phased reopening schedules for container receiving and delivery operations from 11 August.

At Waigaoqiao Terminal, laden container receiving and delivery resumed from 02:00, with empty container operations resuming from 08:00.

At Yangshan Terminal, laden container receiving and delivery resumes from 08:00, followed by empty container operations from 10:00.

The reopening follows precautionary restrictions introduced at key Shanghai terminals on 8 August as Typhoon Dolphin affected operations across eastern China. Earlier restrictions were also implemented at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port as terminals prepared for the impact of the typhoon.

While the resumption of operations marks a return towards normal conditions, some disruption is expected to continue over the coming days as ports, carriers and transport providers work through accumulated backlogs.

Customers should remain prepared for potential vessel berthing and schedule delays, as well as carrier schedule adjustments, which may include vessel omissions or route changes. Increased terminal and yard congestion may also affect container movements as operations recover.

7th August 2026 - Typhoon Dolphin Disrupts Ningbo Port Operations

Typhoon Dolphin continues to affect shipping operations across eastern China, with precautionary measures now extending to key container terminals in Shanghai.

Following the previously announced operational restrictions at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, the latest operational information received by Woodland's teams indicates that container receiving and delivery operations will be suspended at Shanghai's Waigaoqiao and Yangshan terminals from 8 August.

Shanghai Port suspension schedule

The following operational suspensions are scheduled from 8 August:

Waigaoqiao Terminal

• Empty container receiving and delivery suspended from 08:00
• Laden container receiving and delivery suspended from 12:00

Yangshan Terminal

• Empty container receiving and delivery suspended from 06:00
• Laden container receiving and delivery suspended from 08:00
