Renewed strikes at Portuguese ports are impacting operations and causing delays across PGE and PGW services, with multiple planned strike dates through December.
Strikes by Portugal’s Port Authorities Staff are causing widespread disruption across major Portuguese ports, with multiple strike dates set through November and December and resulting delays to key services.
Renewed strike action by Portugal’s Port Authorities Staff is set to cause disruption across all major Portuguese ports over the coming weeks. The strikes will take place on the following dates:
- 21–22 November 2025
- 25–26 November 2025
- 28–29 November 2025
- 2–3 December 2025
- 8–9 December 2025
- 12–13 December 2025
The industrial action is expected to affect a number of port functions, including pilot boats, tugs, bridge operations, mooring, and waste removal, depending on the location. Current operational impacts include:
- Lisbon (PTLIS) and Setúbal (PTSET): Disruption to pilot boat services
- Leixões (PTLEI): Disruption to pilot boats, tugs, bridge operations, mooring, and waste removal
These issues have already contributed to schedule delays across Portuguese services. As of early week 36, the following variances against proforma were recorded:
- M/V ELBTOWER (PGE): 9 days
- M/V CONTAINERSHIPS ARCTIC (PGE): 6 days
- M/V FAITH (PGW): 7 days
