Woodland Group would like to inform customers of an amendment to Marine Cargo Insurance arrangements relating to shipments involving specific areas in the Middle East.

Following recent developments in the region, Woodland’s insurers have advised that War, Strikes, Riots and Civil Commotion (WSR&CC) cover will be withdrawn for shipments travelling to, from, or within certain locations.

The affected areas include:

  • Iran, including its territorial waters (up to 12 nautical miles offshore)
  • The Persian/Arabian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman
  • The Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and adjacent waters

This amendment will take effect from 17 March 2026. From this date, WSR&CC cover will no longer apply to cargo movements involving the above-listed regions.

All other terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of the Marine Cargo Insurance policy remain unchanged and continue to apply. Please refer to the policy wording here.

Customers with shipments that may be impacted by this change are encouraged to contact your Woodland Group representative for further guidance on the implications for their supply chains.
