Belgian Strike Action to Impact Transport & Terminal Operations

Belgian unions have commenced a national strike, resulting in anticipated disruption across transport and terminal operations. Woodland Group is closely monitoring the situation and working with partners to manage the impact on freight movements.

With a national strike now underway in Belgium, disruption to transport and terminal operations is expected. Woodland Group is working closely with partners to mitigate the impact on freight movement and maintain continuity.

A national strike has been officially announced by Belgian unions and is scheduled to take place from Monday, 24 November 2025, through Wednesday, 26 November 2025. The industrial action is expected to create significant disruption across transport and logistics infrastructure, particularly maritime operations.

The Sea Traffic Center (STC) has confirmed that it will not be operational from Monday 24 November at 19:30 PM until Wednesday 26 November at 07:30 AM. During this period, no vessels will be able to enter or depart the Port of Zeebrugge, which may create temporary congestion across the region.

Woodland Group has been informed that Zeebrugge terminals will remain operational, and (lift) units can continue to be collected and delivered provided a confirmed vessel booking is in place. We are working closely with our partners to ensure all outbound vessels can depart Zeebrugge before the operational suspension begins.

Our teams will continue to closely monitor the impact on terminal capacity, keeping customers informed should any additional measures be required to maintain fluid operations.

Woodland Group remains committed to minimising disruption for our customers and ensuring continuity of service throughout the strike period. Further updates will be issued as more information becomes available. If you need support or wish to discuss how these disruptions may affect your shipments, please contact your Woodland representative.
