The All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMT) had called for an indefinite strike on 20th July 2018, 6.00am, asking the government to consider a number of changes within the Indian transport industry, amongst them, making India toll barrier free.
Announcing the withdrawal of the strike, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said the government had agreed to consider their demands: "The government is sensitive to the demands of the transporters. We have accepted many of their demands. We have formed a high-level committee to consider the last remaining one."

Kerala rains and floods have brought the state to a standstill
