Woodland Group deliver final round of the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship

A busy rallycross season came to an end last weekend as the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship wrapped up with its final event in Cape Town, South Africa.

Woodland Group delivered the 600bhp strong supercars by sea from Germany to South Africa in time for 22,700 fans to enjoy some of the season’s most spectacular racing in front of the famous Table Mountain backdrop.

With our hands full in the run up the weekend, as the PSRX Volkswagen team was stuck at sea with the ports closed due to high winds having had to be shipped later than the rest of the race teams, team Woodland successfully managed to deliver the Championship-winning race cars to Killarney International Raceway on Friday evening, just in time for Saturday’s early race action start.

Team PSRX showed its massive appreciation with one of the team’s drivers, Johan Kristofferson, winning this season’s final race event, bagging the 2018 Driver Championship title as well as the Team Championship title - congratulations!

Looking back, it’s been a season of firsts with Woodland Group delivering the first ever Speedmachine festival at Silverstone as well as the Championship’s first ever airfreight move for its inaugural race in Austin, Texas, at Circuit of the Americas.

As preparations for the 2019 Championship season are already fully underway, below a quick review in pictures of some of the best moments of the 2018 season.
