Second Liverpool port strike announced for October
October will see a second strike by dockworkers at the port of Liverpool
Dockworkers at the port of Liverpool have confirmed a second-stage strike from Tuesday, 11th, to Monday, 17th October, following unsuccessful negotiations with the Peel Group, the operator at the Liverpool terminal.
With 5 days of the current strike remaining and part-way through another strike at Felixstowe port, the Unite Union announced continued industrial action in response to a revised offer by the port, which was rejected by the union. This 2nd strike at Liverpool port in under a month will see around 600 workers walk out for 7 days, with control room operators, dock masters and vessel traffic officers set to join the port operatives and engineers taking part in the current strike.
