Air freight update: Heathrow strike latest information

Menzies ground staff strikes go ahead at Europe's busiest airport despite Dnata and Menzies Cargo walk-outs being cancelled

While the strikes planned by Dnata and Menzies Cargo ground workers were called off, aviation services company Menzies has today seen 350 of its ground staff at Heathrow Airport walk out over pay disputes.

Beginning today (18th November) the strikes will also run on Saturday, 19th and Sunday, 20th November and will cause disruption across Heathrow's terminals 2, 3 and 4 with the following airlines most likely to be impacted:

  • Aer Lingus
  • Air Canada
  • Air Portugal
  • American Airlines
  • Austrian Airlines
  • Egypt Air
  • Finnair
  • Lufthansa
  • Qantas
  • Swiss Air

The decision for Dnata and Menzies Cargo not to strike means that routings for the Qatar World Cup will remain unaffected.

We are in contact with the relevant airlines and are looking into possible alternative options over the 3 days in question to avoid any potential disruption to your upcoming bookings. If you have any questions as to an upcoming booking, please contact our dedicated airfreight team (lhrcs@woodlandgroup.com or call +44(0) 20 8754 5560.), or send an email to enquiries@woodlandgroup.com.
